How Friender Works

What is Friender?
Friender is Facebook contact-management and organic-sales software. It connects a web app, a Chrome extension, and the Run Friender desktop scanner so you can organize contacts, review engagement, schedule posts, and manage Messenger follow-up from one account.
It is built for people who sell through their personal Facebook profile: coaches, consultants, course creators, and other business owners who need to remember conversations and follow through. Friender is not a friendship-matching app. Its Facebook workflows should not be confused with a business-Page chatbot or a tool that manages every social network.
How the three parts work together
| Surface | What you do there | What it connects to |
|---|---|---|
| Web app | Manage contacts, notes, labels, tags, templates, campaigns, posts, and automations | Your Friender account at app.friender.io |
| Chrome extension | Use Friender controls while working inside Facebook and Messenger; sync Facebook information | The same Friender account and connected Facebook account |
| Run Friender scanner | Review supported Facebook sources and add selected profiles to the friend-request queue | The queue you manage in the web app |
The web app is the place to plan and review your work. The extension connects that work to Facebook. You can manage queues, templates, and automations in the web app without having the extension open, but the extension is required for the full connected Facebook experience.
Use Sync Now when you want to refresh information. Settings also provides a daily automatic-sync time. Sync and live message handling are different: the enabled message auto-responder operates through the extension in real time, while sync fills in tracking information.
A useful first workflow
Start with a conversation you already have. You do not need a large campaign to find out whether Friender improves your follow-up.
- Connect and sync. Sign in to Friender, install the Chrome extension through the product's setup instructions, and sync the Facebook account you intend to use.
- Find a contact. Open Contacts and choose someone who requested information or agreed to a next step.
- Save context. Write a note explaining what they asked, what you promised, and when they expect a reply.
- Use a label and a tag. A label can represent the current relationship stage. A tag can record a specific interest, such as the resource they requested.
- Set a reminder. Choose a follow-up time that reflects the conversation. Review the contact's latest reply before sending anything.
- Record the outcome. Update the note and label after the reply. Keep an interested conversation separate from a trial or a completed purchase.
For a worked example, use the Facebook CRM workflow. If you need wording for a real conversation, adapt the Messenger follow-up templates.
What can you organize or automate?
Contacts and conversation context
Contacts include notes, activity, engagement, and reminders. Labels provide one category per contact; tags let you record multiple interests or attributes. Use those controls to organize your process. A label-based sales process is not the same as a fully implemented pipeline module or a shared team CRM.
Friend-request queue
The scanner and queue help you review profiles, apply available filters, and manage scheduled requests. A queue is an operational tool, not evidence that everyone in it wants to hear from you. Read the friend-request workflow and limitations before deciding how to use it.
Messenger templates, campaigns, and automations
Templates hold reusable message content. Campaigns organize scheduled sends to a selected audience. A drip sequence is built in Automation, using actions such as Message → Delay → Message. Friender does not have a separate drip-sequence product hidden elsewhere in the app.
Automations can pass a contact into another automation, but they cannot create recursive loops. A contact goes through an individual automation once. Turning an automation off pauses contacts already in that flow; turning it back on resumes them. Check the latest conversation before resuming work that may no longer fit.
Posts and AI assistance
The Posts area includes scheduling, a calendar, and post tracking. AI features use a key you supply for OpenRouter or OpenAI. Those provider charges are separate from your Friender plan; Friender does not add its own AI-token usage bill on top. Review generated content before publishing it.
Requirements and fit
| Question | Product answer |
|---|---|
| Is the extension required? | Yes, for full functionality and Facebook sync. Some planning and management work is available in the web app separately. |
| Which browser is supported? | Google Chrome. Do not assume equivalent extension support in Firefox, Safari, or Edge. |
| How many Facebook accounts connect to one Friender account? | One. Separate Facebook accounts require separate Friender accounts. |
| Are team sub-users and role permissions available? | Not currently. Browser Manager controls signed-in browser sessions; it is not a team-permissions system. |
| Can I export contacts, engagement, or activity as CSV? | Those exports are not currently available. Confirm this fits your reporting and data requirements before adopting the workflow. |
| Does creating an account unlock every feature? | No. Account creation, free features, and paid-plan trials are distinct. Check the current plan and checkout. |
Use the pricing page to compare current feature availability and billing terms. This reference intentionally does not duplicate prices or promise access that a selected plan does not include.
What Friender does not promise
Settings such as caps, schedules, and delays help you control your own activity. They do not guarantee that Facebook will permit an action or that an account will avoid restrictions. Respect restrictions and requests not to be contacted. Friender cannot promise a particular number of leads, sales, or accepted friend requests.
Measure results using qualified conversations, completed purchases, and collected revenue. Estimated time savings and labor-cost savings are different from sales revenue.
Who builds Friender?
Friender is built by Jon Vaughn and Aunkita Vaughn, the co-founders behind Tier5 and Vaughn Labs. The public marketing site is start.friender.io and the account application is app.friender.io. Tier5's company page provides additional company background.
