10 Facebook Auto-Reply Message Examples for Business Conversations

    On this page

A useful Facebook auto-reply confirms what the person requested, provides the next piece of information, and sets an accurate expectation for what happens next. Match the message to its trigger. Use Page response controls for a business Page, or the relevant Friender feature for your connected personal-profile workflow.

Download all ten reply templates as a CSV. The file is an editable wording library, not an automatic upload or enabled messaging rule. Replace every bracketed placeholder and review the text before use.

    Choose the right trigger first

Use an instant acknowledgment when someone starts a conversation with your Page. Use a keyword reply when the person asks for a specific resource. Use a saved reply that you review when the answer depends on their situation. The message automation comparison explains these choices.

Meta documents its Page controls in greeting and instant reply instructions. Friender's Message Auto Responder runs through the connected Chrome extension when enabled. Test the chosen surface rather than assuming settings transfer between them.

    1. Acknowledge a new Page message

Thanks for contacting [business]. We have received your message. Our team reviews messages during [hours and time zone] and usually replies within [realistic timeframe]. What would you like help with?

Use a response time you can meet. If you work alone, change "our team" to wording that accurately represents your business.

    2. Explain an away period

Thanks for your message. We will be back on [day, time, and time zone]. Please leave the question you would like us to answer, and we will pick it up when we return.

Use an away setting where the selected platform supports it, and update the message when your schedule changes.

    3. Deliver a requested checklist

Here is the [checklist] you requested: [link]. Start with [section] if you are working on [task]. What would you like to put into practice first?

Match the keyword to the actual resource request. A generic word such as "help" may appear in many unrelated messages.

    4. Send a tutorial someone asked for

Here is the [tutorial] we discussed: [link]. It walks through [specific task]. You will need [actual prerequisite] to follow the steps.

Verify that the tutorial is accessible and the prerequisites are accurate.

    5. Explain service scope

The [service] includes [deliverables] over [timeframe]. You can review the scope and current price here: [link]. Which part would you like me to explain?

Use this as a reviewed saved reply when scope varies by customer. State material costs and terms accurately.

    6. Respond to a booking request

You can see available times for [meeting purpose] here: [booking link]. The conversation lasts [duration] and covers [agenda]. The calendar will show [accurate time-zone behavior].

Confirm the booking tool's behavior. A sent booking link is not a confirmed appointment.

    7. Route a support question

I can help you find the right next step. Which part of [product or service] are you using, and what did you expect to happen? Please describe the issue without sending passwords or payment details.

Use the answer to route or review the question. Keep sensitive account information out of ordinary chat templates.

    8. Confirm a resource request needs clarification

Happy to point you to the right resource. Are you looking for [resource A] or [resource B]?

Use this when the person's request is genuinely ambiguous. Specific resource names make the reply easy to answer.

    9. Follow up at an agreed time

We agreed to revisit [topic] after [milestone]. Is now still a useful time, or would another date work better?

Use a reminder or a configured sequence tied to the agreement. This is not an instant response to every incoming message.

    10. Confirm the follow-up has ended

Thanks for letting me know. I have noted your preference and ended this follow-up. You are welcome to message me if you need anything later.

Send this only after you have actually updated the relevant workflow and contact record. A confirmation message does not itself stop another campaign or automation.

Set up a resource reply in Friender

Create the message in Templates, then configure the Message Auto Responder with the intended keywords and selected message. Review any tags it applies, the response delay, and the same-response cooldown. Confirm the Chrome extension is connected and the responder is enabled.

Test a matching request, a nonmatching message, and a repeated request. Check the resulting reply and contact activity. For multi-step follow-up, use the Automation setup guide; a keyword reply and a drip sequence serve different purposes.

    Common questions

Should an auto-reply include a sales pitch?

First fulfill the person's request. If they asked about an offer, explain that offer clearly. If they asked for a checklist, deliver it and invite a relevant question.

Can I copy these messages exactly?

Use them as starting points. Replace placeholders, verify facts and links, and adapt the voice to your business. Keep the message aligned with the event that triggers it.

What if a keyword matches accidentally?

Use specific phrases, test nonmatching examples, and review responder activity. Adjust keywords or disable the rule while correcting it. Do not assume that a short common word uniquely identifies intent.

How do I measure whether replies help?

Track successful resource delivery, relevant replies, and agreed next actions. Use the qualification checklist to distinguish a conversation from a qualified lead.
